They were developed to assist conservationists with the protection of native species from introduced predators. These traps pass National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee (NAWAC) guidelines in New Zealand (using internationally recognised criteria) for effective kill trap performance. In the UK, the DoC 200 must be set within a tunnel
