E. Guigal Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2018 extra-brut-selection It's elegantGuigal is a big house, but big here means they can select ruthlessly and then sit on the wine for years before anyone gets to buy it. Their Chateauneuf is the sunlit southern counterpoint to the Northern Rhone reds that made them famous: Grenache led, warm, generous, and full of the wild herb garrigue character that only the South delivers. Line it up next to their Cote Rotie and you have a two glass masterclass in what the Rhone actually is North
